Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has urged all parties to refrain from blaming Anwar Ibrahim and the government as Malaysia begins to feel the impact of the ongoing West Asian conflict.
The Deputy Prime Minister said the current situation is part of a broader global crisis, with effects being felt across many countries, not just Malaysia.
Speaking after a monthly assembly at the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development Malaysia, he stressed that even opposition groups should not politicise the issue or portray it as a failure of the government.
He added that those criticising the administration should observe the situation firsthand in affected regions, noting that the disruption in areas such as the Strait of Hormuz highlights the seriousness of the crisis.
“We are actually fortunate. This is a global issue, and it should not be unfairly placed on the government’s shoulders. It is a reality we must all accept,” he said.
Ahmad Zahid also reminded the public that the ripple effects of international conflicts are unavoidable, urging all sides to approach the matter with understanding rather than assigning blame.
