Driver Seen Reversing Against Traffic To Avoid JPJ Roadblock In KL

Date:

A driver was seen allegedly attempting to evade a roadblock by reversing dangerously along a one-way street in Kuala Lumpur, nearly causing collisions with other vehicles.

The incident is believed to have taken place recently in the capital area, where Road Transport Department (JPJ) enforcement officers had set up a checkpoint ahead.

According to widely circulated footage, the Toyota driver appeared to notice the roadblock and, instead of turning around, began reversing in a single-direction lane in an apparent attempt to escape the checkpoint.

The video shows other motorists being forced to brake and swerve suddenly as the vehicle moved backwards, resulting in traffic disruption and congestion along the road.

The clip has since gone viral on social media, drawing strong reactions from netizens who criticised the reckless manoeuvre.

Some commenters also shared similar experiences, with one claiming that a friend who tried to avoid a roadblock ended up receiving multiple summonses and had to face legal action, describing it as a costly mistake.
