A motorcyclist who was seen performing a dangerous “Superman” stunt along the Kota Samarahan–Sadong Jaya road has been arrested by police after the incident went viral on social media.
The Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) said in a Facebook post that the case came to light after a video of the reckless act was uploaded online on March 29.
The footage showed a man lying flat on his motorcycle while riding at speed, an act which posed a serious risk to himself and other road users.
Following intelligence gathering and public information, police managed to identify the rider, a 28-year-old local man.
The suspect later turned himself in at the Kota Samarahan District Police Headquarters on April 1, 2026, where he was detained to assist investigations.
The case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving.
Police stressed that firm action will be taken against individuals who violate traffic laws and endanger public safety.
They also reminded the public not to treat public roads as platforms for dangerous stunts that could put lives at risk.
