Taiwanese billionaire Wang Wen-yang, 74, has reportedly been spotted on a date with a university student said to be 54 years younger than him.
Wang, a businessman and the eldest son of the late Formosa Plastics Group founder Wang Yung-ching, was once listed among the world’s 200 richest individuals.
According to reports by Taiwanese media outlet ETtoday, the pair were seen dining together at a food court in a shopping mall in Taipei. The woman is believed to be a 20-year-old university student.
Sources also claim the couple has been in a relationship for around six months, and that she has already met his family, who reportedly responded positively.
When asked to comment on the relationship, Wang declined to respond, stating through his spokesperson that it was a private matter.
Separately, media reports noted that Wang was previously involved in a legal dispute involving another female university student who alleged they had a relationship that resulted in the birth of a child.
The woman reportedly sought financial compensation amounting to billions of New Taiwan dollars, although the court later ruled against her due to insufficient evidence after Wang refused a requested DNA test.
Wang has also previously been linked to other much younger partners, according to past media reports, including alleged relationships during earlier stages of his career.
His personal life has often drawn public attention, alongside his business background and long-standing family ties to one of Taiwan’s most influential industrial conglomerates.
