PKR Leader Urges Action Against Rafizi Ramli Over Alleged Internal Damage

Date:

A Penang PKR leader has urged the party to take firm action against former deputy president Rafizi Ramli, accusing him of causing internal damage to the party.

Penang PKR vice-chairman Kumaresan Aramugam, who is also the Batu Uban assemblyman, claimed that Rafizi’s recent actions are undermining the party from within. He described the Pandan MP as a “hypocrite” and stressed that decisive steps are needed to protect the party’s integrity and restore public confidence.

Kumaresan said PKR exists to serve the people, not individual interests, adding that Rafizi should not remain in the party while allegedly weakening it internally. He insisted that stepping down would be the most appropriate course of action.

He also criticised Rafizi’s statement that he would be “more dangerous” outside the party, describing it as a form of political threat that should not be tolerated. According to him, such remarks reflect internal sabotage rather than genuine commitment to reform or public service.

The PKR central leadership council member further questioned Rafizi’s recent outspokenness, noting that he had not taken a similarly vocal stance during his tenure as economy minister. He suggested that Rafizi’s current approach, including appearances on podcast platforms, raises concerns about his motives.

Kumaresan also alleged that Rafizi’s actions could be an attempt to divert attention from issues linked to a RM1.12 billion investment controversy reportedly involving officials under his former office.
