Ketamine Dealer ‘Queen’ Jailed 15 Years For Supplying Drugs In Matthew Perry Overdose Death

Date:

A drug dealer known as the “Ketamine Queen” has been sentenced to 15 years in prison by a California court after supplying the substances that led to the death of actor Matthew Perry.

Jasveen Sangha, 42, was one of five individuals charged in connection with the 2023 death of the Friends star, who was found unresponsive in the hot tub of his Los Angeles home.

Sangha, a dual citizen of the United States and the United Kingdom, had been held in federal custody since August 2024 prior to sentencing.

Perry, 54, had long battled addiction issues, though colleagues believed he had been making progress before his sudden death, which sparked widespread grief among fans worldwide.

Investigations into the case uncovered a wider drug distribution network involving suppliers and medical professionals who allegedly profited from the actor’s dependency.

One of the doctors involved, Salvador Plasencia, previously pleaded guilty to multiple counts of ketamine distribution and was sentenced to 30 months in prison.

Another doctor, Mark Chavez, received home confinement and was ordered to complete extensive community service.

Court documents revealed that Plasencia had sourced ketamine from Chavez and resold it to Perry at significantly inflated prices, with prosecutors stating the actor was charged more than US$2,000 per vial.

Sangha reportedly worked with intermediary Erik Fleming to supply 51 vials of ketamine to Perry’s personal assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, who administered the drug to the actor on multiple occasions.

Authorities said the fatal dose was given on October 28, 2023, when Perry received at least three injections linked to the supplied ketamine.

Following news of Perry’s death, Sangha allegedly attempted to destroy evidence by instructing an associate to delete messages.

A search of her home in North Hollywood later uncovered a range of illegal drugs, including methamphetamine, cocaine, ketamine, ecstasy, and counterfeit prescription pills, along with drug paraphernalia and surveillance detection equipment.
