A young woman in Cambodia has been arrested after allegedly beating her two-year-old stepson to death following a minor accident involving a bar of soap.
According to local media reports, the 24-year-old suspect lost her temper after the toddler accidentally dropped the soap. She is said to have kicked, pushed and slammed the child against a wall during the incident.
Witness accounts stated that she also pinched and repeatedly struck the boy until he became unresponsive.
Realising the child’s condition had worsened, the woman rushed him to a nearby hospital, but medical staff confirmed that he had already died.
In an attempt to conceal the incident, she later brought the child’s body to a temple for cremation and urged the monastery leader to expedite the ritual.
However, the suspicious circumstances prompted the monk to alert authorities, leading to her arrest.
The suspect later confessed to the killing, according to reports.
A post-mortem examination revealed that the child died due to a ruptured kidney.
