Eight individuals, including a woman, have been detained after testing positive for drugs during an operation conducted by the National Anti-Drug Agency (Agensi Antidadah Kebangsaan) in the area on Monday night.
The suspects, aged between 23 and 39, were arrested following a more than six-hour operation that began at 5pm, targeting suspected drug abuse activities in the locality.
An AADK spokesperson said urine screening results showed three individuals tested positive for cannabis, four for methamphetamine, and one for MDMA.
All those detained are being held under Section 3 of the Drug Dependants (Treatment and Rehabilitation) Act 1983, pending further procedures to confirm their status as drug users.
If confirmed, they may be required to undergo treatment and rehabilitation programmes either at designated institutions or through community-based recovery initiatives.
