Police have recorded the statement of a 13-year-old boy suspected of throwing objects from the 13th floor of a flat at PPR Seri Malaysia, sparking concern among residents.
Cheras District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Rosdi Daud, said the teenager, accompanied by his parents, presented himself at the police station at approximately 12.30am on Saturday to assist in the investigation.
Authorities confirmed that a report had been lodged on Friday by the chairman of the residents’ association regarding the incident, prompting immediate action from law enforcement.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the boy is believed to have thrown stones and a plastic chair from the upper floor of the residential block, raising safety concerns among those living in the area. Such behaviour, if left unchecked, could pose serious risks to public safety in high-rise communities.
A task force from the Salak Selatan Baru Police Station was deployed to the scene to conduct further checks and gather evidence.
Police have since confirmed that no injuries were reported in the incident. Earlier, footage of the alleged act, believed to have been captured on CCTV within the housing area, had gone viral on social media, drawing widespread attention and concern from the public.
