Syed Saddiq: Wedding To Bella Astillah Expected Before Year End Despite Busy Schedules

Date:

Muar Member of Parliament Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman says preparations for his upcoming wedding with fiancée Bella Astillah are progressing smoothly, despite both of them facing demanding work commitments.

Syed Saddiq said their respective careers have not become an obstacle to their plans to formalise their relationship, adding that discussions on wedding arrangements are being handled closely with both families to ensure everything proceeds well.

“Like the engagement process, matters like this are usually discussed with family. Alhamdulillah, everything is going well. As I mentioned before, I want to make sure Bella and her family are happy. She is my fiancée and I want everything to go smoothly, God willing before the end of this year,” he said.

He added that both he and Bella have extremely busy schedules — with him attending to parliamentary duties and constituency work in Muar, while Bella travels frequently for her career. Despite this, both continue to move forward with their wedding planning, which is expected to take place in the coming months.

Syed Saddiq made the remarks after officiating the PTTI Group Sdn Bhd Inspirational Awards 2026 at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) on Saturday.

When asked about the exact wedding date, he said the announcement will be made at the appropriate time and that such matters are traditionally kept within the family before being shared publicly.

“Don’t worry, things like engagement and marriage are not something to hide. We will share the good news when the time comes,” he said.

He also described the wedding preparations as a new learning experience that is teaching him about responsibility as a future husband, especially in balancing career and family commitments.

“I want to be a good husband. If my fiancée continues her career as a professional singer and actress, her schedule will be busy, but family still comes first and responsibilities must be shared,” he said.

Syed Saddiq added that marriage is not just about personal happiness but also about the responsibility between two families. He expressed hope that this new chapter would prepare him for greater responsibilities in the future, including fatherhood.
