A political secretary to Transport Minister Anthony Loke has filed a police report against activist Badrul Hisham Shaharin, also known as Chegubard, over a Facebook post alleged to contain defamatory remarks involving the minister and a Negri Sembilan customary institution.
The report was lodged at the Seremban district police headquarters at noon by Ho Weng Wah, following a post titled “Anthony Loke must be investigated for funding an illegal entity – Majlis Dato Lembaga Adat Sungei Ujong.”
Ho said the post allegedly accused Loke of channelling substantial funds to what was described as an illegal entity and linked the matter to issues involving a royal-linked institution in the state.
He added that the content was believed to involve sensitive elements touching on race, religion and royalty (3R), which could potentially disrupt public harmony and trigger social tension.
Ho stressed that action must be taken against the spread of false and defamatory content online, particularly when it involves sensitive issues that may affect national stability.
He also urged authorities to investigate the matter under relevant laws, including Sections 505 and 499 of the Penal Code, as well as Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
