A man in his 40s has died after falling several floors inside a rooftop bar in Birmingham city centre, police have confirmed.
Emergency services were called to Henman & Cooper on Colmore Row at around 6.20pm on Sunday following reports that a man had fallen within the building.
The man was taken to hospital for treatment but later died from his injuries, West Midlands Police said.
Authorities stated that the incident is not being treated as suspicious, and a report will be prepared for the coroner to determine the cause of death.
Police have also expressed condolences to the deceased’s family and loved ones during what they described as a difficult time.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said officers responded to the scene shortly after receiving the call, and confirmed that the man had fallen several floors inside the premises.
In a statement, Henman & Cooper announced temporary closure following the incident, saying the decision was made due to “unforeseen circumstances.” The venue apologised to customers and expressed appreciation for public understanding.
The bar also said it hoped to reopen and welcome guests again soon, thanking customers for their support.
