The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm, heavy rain, and strong wind warning affecting nearly all states in Peninsular Malaysia as well as several areas in Sabah and Sarawak until 9pm today.
MetMalaysia said the weather conditions are expected to affect Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan, and Melaka.
In the northern region, affected areas include Baling, Kulim, and Bandar Baharu in Kedah, the whole of Penang, and most parts of Perak including Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, and Hilir Perak.
Similar weather conditions are also forecast in the East Coast states, covering Jeli, Kuala Krai, and Gua Musang in Kelantan, while in Terengganu the affected areas include Besut, Setiu, and Dungun.
In Pahang, almost all districts are expected to be impacted, including Cameron Highlands, Raub, Kuantan, and Rompin.
For Johor, the warning covers Tangkak, Segamat, Muar, Batu Pahat, Kluang, and Mersing.
In Sarawak, bad weather is expected in Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri, and Limbang.
Meanwhile in Sabah, affected areas include the Interior, West Coast, and Sandakan regions, particularly Tongod, as well as the Federal Territory of Labuan.
