A political crisis in Negeri Sembilan has been described as the result of betrayal by “friends” who were previously seen as loyal supporters of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration in the state.
PH Negeri Sembilan chairman Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said that although the issue has now been resolved, it still left a mark of betrayal that cannot be ignored.
“We in Negeri Sembilan have a big ship that we built strongly and steadily, one that has travelled far and endured storms together,” he said.
“As the captain, they showed loyalty while on board, but suddenly they became uncomfortable—perhaps it was too hot, or they wanted something new—and they drilled holes from within,” he added.
He said the “ship was damaged and water came in,” questioning why it happened without any clear dissatisfaction being raised earlier.
“Even though we managed to patch it up, there is still a trace of leakage. That trace itself reflects the betrayal that took place,” he said.
Aminuddin, who is also Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar, said the situation showed that political challenges are not limited to Johor and Melaka, but also involve Negeri Sembilan.
He added that the PH 2026 Convention reflects the coalition’s readiness to face elections nationwide, even though the date has not yet been announced.
He also stressed that unity within the coalition must not be taken for granted, adding that Negeri Sembilan PH is now stronger and more united despite past internal tensions.
“Do not betray us,” he said.
