13-Year-Old Boy Allegedly Killed And Buried By Friends After Drinking Session

Date:

A 13-year-old boy was allegedly beaten to death before his body was buried by two teenage friends in a shocking incident in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India.

According to police, the victim, who had reportedly dropped out of school, went fishing with the two teenagers near a canal in the Irugur area on Saturday.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the trio are believed to have consumed alcohol before an argument broke out between them.

The fight allegedly started after the victim attacked one of the teenagers using a liquor bottle.

Authorities said the situation quickly turned violent when the two suspects allegedly retaliated, leading to the victim’s death at the scene.

Police believe the two teenagers later buried the victim’s body out of fear that the incident would be discovered before returning to their respective homes.

The victim’s disappearance was later noticed by family members, who lodged a police report.

Further investigations led officers to question the two teenagers, who eventually confessed to the crime on Sunday night.

The victim’s body was later exhumed and sent for a post-mortem examination before being handed over to the family for funeral arrangements.

A police officer said both suspects, who are minors, will be placed in an Observation Home while investigations continue.

“We will send them to an Observation Home as they are still underage. Further investigations are ongoing,” the officer said.

The incident has sparked concern among the local community over rising social problems and alcohol consumption involving teenagers.
