Witness No. 71 in the inquest into the death of Zara Qairina Mahathir told the Coroner’s Court here that the father of the teenager is no longer living under the same roof as his wife, Noraidah Lamat, who is also the mother of the deceased.
Nur Shira Abdullah, 46, who is Zara Qairina’s aunt, said the teenager’s parents are still legally married.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Mohd Fairuz Johari, who is also the inquest conducting officer, had earlier asked the witness whether the couple were still married and living together.
“They are still married up to today. However, I understand that Zara’s father and mother have not been living together since she was about three to four years old,” she said during her testimony on Tuesday.
