Family Appeals For Dashcam Footage After Bukit Katil Crash

Date:

A journalist from a news portal in the state has appealed to the public for any dashboard camera (dashcam) footage related to a road accident involving her father in front of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Kampung Tun Razak, Bukit Katil, on Friday.

The journalist, Norafiqah Jamal, 33, said the incident is believed to have occurred between 7am and 7.15am, shortly after her father, Jamal Ibrahim, 68, had finished sending his grandchild to school.

She said her father, who was riding a Modenas Kriss MR2 110cc motorcycle, was allegedly hit by a red Perodua Ativa driven by a woman.

“However, it is unclear whether the vehicle stopped or left the scene, as based on images and videos received, no red Perodua Ativa was seen at the location to assist my father,” she said.

She added that a police report has not yet been lodged as her father is currently receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Norafiqah urged members of the public who were in the area at the time of the incident and may have dashcam recordings to come forward to assist the family and investigations.

“If anyone has dashcam footage of the incident or saw any vehicle at the scene, we kindly ask you to share it to help with the investigation and our family matters,” she said.

She also provided a contact number, asking the public to reach out at 016-4740103 if they have relevant information.
