Three Arrested After Allegedly Trying To Crash Into Police Patrol Car

Date:

A dramatic police operation in Dusun Tua ended with the arrest of three individuals, including two women, after they allegedly attempted to ram a police vehicle while trying to escape arrest on Saturday night.

The suspects, all believed to have extensive criminal and drug-related records, were detained following a tense confrontation involving officers from the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of the Tampin District Police Headquarters.

Kajang district police chief Naazron Abdul Yusof said authorities received information regarding the incident at around 9.30pm before a police team moved in to apprehend the suspects who were inside a vehicle parked by the roadside.

However, the situation quickly turned dangerous when the suspects allegedly tried to drive into the police vehicle in an attempt to flee the scene.

Police officers were forced to fire shots after feeling threatened during the operation, highlighting the growing risks faced by enforcement personnel when dealing with repeat offenders.

Checks later revealed the first suspect had six criminal records and three narcotics-related offences, while the second suspect was linked to four criminal cases and a staggering 11 drug-related records.

The third suspect was also no stranger to authorities, with six criminal records and two narcotics offences found under their name.

Investigations further uncovered that the suspects’ vehicle was fitted with fake registration plates, raising suspicions that it may have been connected to other criminal activities.

Police also seized several mobile phones and vehicle remote control devices believed to be linked to cases currently under investigation by the Tampin district police headquarters.

The case is now being investigated under Section 307 and Section 186 of the Penal Code for attempted murder and obstructing public servants from carrying out their duties.

Authorities meanwhile urged members of the public to immediately contact MERS 999 or the Kajang District Police Control Centre if they come across suspicious activities or criminal behaviour in their neighbourhoods.
