Dr Wong Lu Yang, former president of JCI Kota Bharu, expressed deep remorse after online videos and posts about the ongoing scandal caused further emotional distress to his wife.
In a statement, he apologized to his spouse, saying, “Thank you to friends and family for your concern. A few months ago, my family and I were prepared for this situation when we refused to compromise with extortion attempts.”
He added, “We are all safe, but the second wave of harm inflicted on my wife makes me feel guilty and heartbroken. Once again, I want to say sorry to my wife.”
Dr Wong also opened the comment section on his newly created Facebook page to engage with the public and address concerns directly.
