Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has once again found himself at the centre of controversy following fresh reports alleging that more than 20 extramarital affairs were raised during his divorce proceedings with former wife Melinda French Gates.
According to a report published by the New York Post on June 1, the allegations surfaced during the couple’s 2021 divorce process and reportedly stunned employees familiar with the case.
The latest claims come amid renewed scrutiny surrounding Gates’ personal life and his past association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The report also cited comments allegedly made by the 70-year-old billionaire during a gathering earlier this year, where he reportedly acknowledged having affairs with two Russian women whose names were mentioned in documents linked to the Epstein case.
Despite the allegations, Gates has maintained that he was never involved in any illegal activities and has denied witnessing any unlawful conduct.
“I was not involved in anything illegal, nor did I witness anything illegal,” Gates reportedly said.
The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has not publicly responded to the latest claims.
The allegations have triggered widespread discussion on social media, with users debating the billionaire’s personal life and the impact of the reports on his long-standing public image as a philanthropist and technology pioneer.
Gates and Melinda officially ended their 27-year marriage in 2021, a separation that attracted global attention due to the couple’s immense wealth and influence.
In previous interviews, Melinda has openly stated that Gates’ relationship with Epstein was one of the factors that contributed to the breakdown of their marriage.
Reports have also claimed that Gates repeatedly apologised to Melinda after details surrounding his alleged relationships became public.
While the latest allegations continue to generate headlines, no criminal wrongdoing has been alleged in connection with the reported affairs.
Gates remains one of the world’s most recognisable business figures, having built Microsoft into one of the largest technology companies in history before dedicating much of his time to global philanthropy through the Gates Foundation.
