A four-year-old boy has died after being found unconscious in a hotel resort swimming pool in Port Dickson, in an incident that occurred yesterday afternoon.
Police said they received a report from Hospital Port Dickson at about 7.26pm regarding the incident, which took place around 5.30pm when the child was swimming with his siblings under the supervision of their mother.
According to authorities, the family from Johor had been staying at the resort for a short holiday when the tragedy unfolded.
The child was believed to have fallen into the pool and was later noticed by his elder sibling before being pulled out with the help of members of the public and rushed to hospital by his mother.
Despite efforts to save him, the boy was pronounced dead at 10.31pm, with post-mortem results confirming drowning as the cause of death.
Police are investigating the case under the Child Act 2001.
