Women’s Wing of Barisan Nasional (BN) Perak has mobilised its election machinery to support the coalition’s candidates in the upcoming Johor and Negeri Sembilan state elections.
BN Perak Women’s chief, Datuk Salbiah Mohamed, said the team will first focus on Johor, covering five state constituencies across two parliamentary seats before moving on to Negeri Sembilan.
She said at least 30 women operatives will be deployed to assist election campaign efforts in both states.
“Perak will not be left out in the Johor and Negeri Sembilan PRN. We will assist according to the state liaison directives, including in Johor involving two parliamentary seats and five state seats,” she said when met in Kampung Bongor on Wednesday.
Salbiah said campaign operations are expected to run smoothly as the assigned areas are familiar locations previously covered by the team.
She added that BN Women will also strengthen its campaign approach through digital initiatives, including Jalinan Rakyat (JR) Digital and the MyJR system to better gauge voter sentiment.
“Women’s machinery usually focuses on reading public sentiment, and digital tools are now helping to improve field operations,” she said.
The Election Commission has set nomination day for the Johor PRN on June 27, early voting on July 7, and polling day on July 11.
For Negeri Sembilan, nomination day is on July 18, followed by early voting on July 28 and polling on August 1.
