Authorities in Melaka are investigating a violent confrontation near a bus stop in Jalan Gapam, Bemban, which left two individuals injured, after seven suspects were detained in connection with the case.
According to Jasin District Police Chief Superintendent Lee Robert, the group comprising six men and one woman, aged between 20 and 29, was arrested in separate raids conducted across Melaka between 3pm and 6.50pm on Tuesday.
Police also seized several items believed to be linked to the incident, including mobile phones, clothing, footwear, slippers, and a wooden object suspected to have been used during the altercation.
Superintendent Lee said both victims received treatment at Melaka Hospital and are currently reported to be in stable condition as investigations continue under Sections 326 and 148 of the Penal Code.
He added that police will be applying for remand orders at the Jasin Magistrate’s Court to assist further investigations into the violent clash.
Preliminary reports indicate that two men, aged 21 and 28, sustained serious injuries during the incident, including head trauma and fractures, after allegedly being attacked by members of rival groups during the confrontation.
Authorities have since intensified investigations to determine the exact cause of the brawl, while assuring that all necessary legal actions will be taken against those involved.
