A woman in her 30s is being investigated after a multi-vehicle crash involving 10 vehicles at a traffic light junction near Taman Sejati Indah here at about 9pm on Tuesday.
Kuala Muda District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Hanyan Ramlan said further investigations are underway, including claims that the woman may have suffered a seizure during the incident.
He said the crash involved four cars and six motorcycles, although the extent of damage to each vehicle is still being assessed.
According to initial investigations, the woman was driving from the Taman Sejati Indah tunnel towards Taman Seri Gedong when her vehicle continued straight as she approached the traffic light at Jalan Jati 1.
Her car is believed to have first collided with the rear of a vehicle that had stopped at a red light, triggering a chain collision involving three other cars in front.
The impact then caused her vehicle to veer to the right side of the road, where it struck six motorcycles parked along the roadside.
Police said drivers of the other three cars were not injured in the incident.
The woman was sent to hospital for further treatment, while investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing.
