A local well-known bakery factory was reported to have caught fire in Kolombong, Sabah at about 11.30am on Thursday.
Thick black smoke could be seen billowing from the premises and across several surrounding areas, drawing the attention of the public.
The Sabah Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) said a team of firefighters had been deployed to the scene immediately after receiving the emergency call.
Firefighting operations are currently underway to bring the blaze under control and prevent it from spreading to nearby premises.
Authorities have yet to confirm whether there are any casualties or injuries in the incident.
