A 46-year-old man was injured after the car he was driving lost control and crashed into a fruit stall in an accident along Kilometer 1, Jalan Temerloh-Mentakab, on Saturday afternoon.
The incident, which occurred at about 5.05pm, left the driver with facial injuries. He is currently receiving treatment at the Yellow Zone of Hospital Temerloh.
Temerloh District Police Chief ACP Mohd Nasyim Bahron said police received a report on the crash at 6.24pm the same day.
Preliminary investigations found that the victim was driving a Proton Wira Aeroback from Temerloh towards Mentakab when he allegedly lost control of the vehicle upon reaching the location.
The vehicle veered off to the left side of the road before crashing into a fruit stall by the roadside.
It then struck a nearby electricity pole before colliding with another parked Proton Wira Aeroback, causing damage to both the front and rear of the vehicles.
The injured driver was later taken to Hospital Temerloh by Civil Defence Force (APM) personnel for further treatment.
Authorities confirmed that road conditions at the time were straight, dry and in good weather, with clear visibility.
Police said the crash is believed to have been caused by the driver’s negligence in failing to maintain control of the vehicle.
The case is being investigated under Rule 10 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959 (LN 166/59).
Statements from the driver will be recorded to assist investigations, while witnesses are urged to come forward with any information to aid the probe.
