The Kelantan government is offering a RM100 gold savings account sponsorship to babies born between July 1, 2025 and June 30, 2026 through its Cakna Aulad Scheme.
State Welfare, Family Development, Women and Community Committee chairman Datuk Rohani Ibrahim said the programme, introduced in 2019, is one of the state government’s welfare initiatives to celebrate the birth of Kelantanian children while encouraging parents to cultivate a savings habit from an early age.
“Since its introduction, a total of 8,955 mothers and children have benefited from the Cakna Aulad Scheme between 2019 and 2025, involving an overall allocation of RM777,650.
“For 2026, we are targeting 1,350 newborns to receive a RM100 sponsorship for the opening of a Gold Savings Account, with 30 recipients from each State Legislative Assembly (DUN) throughout Kelantan,” she said in a statement on Monday.
Rohani said the assistance is not only a gesture of appreciation from the state government to families welcoming a newborn, but is also intended to encourage parents to plan their children’s finances more systematically from an early stage.
To qualify, applicants must ensure the baby was born in Kelantan and submit copies of both parents’ identity cards, the child’s MyKid or birth certificate, as well as all required supporting documents.
She said incomplete applications or those containing questionable information would not be processed.
Application forms can be obtained from the respective State Assembly representatives’ offices before being submitted to the Welfare, Family Development and Women Secretariat (U-KeKWa) no later than July 20.
According to Rohani, the 2026 Cakna Aulad Scheme is being implemented by U-KeKWa in collaboration with the Beliawanis DUN NGO and Kelantan Gold Trade (KGT).
She also encouraged eligible parents not to miss the opportunity to apply for the scheme, saying it could serve as the foundation for their children’s long-term financial security from the very beginning of life.
