Pejuang Decides Not To Contest, Backs PN Candidates In State Election

Date:

Parti Pejuang Tanahair (Pejuang) has decided not to field any candidates in the 2026 Negeri Sembilan state election and will continue supporting Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidates contesting in the polls.

The decision was reached during the party’s 143rd Central Executive Council meeting held on Thursday.

Pejuang president Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir said the meeting discussed two main matters, namely the party’s post-analysis of the Johor state election and its direction ahead of the Negeri Sembilan election.

He said the party unanimously agreed to continue backing PN candidates who will contest in 11 state seats in Negeri Sembilan.

“Pejuang will not be placing any candidates in the Negeri Sembilan state election 2026,” he said in a statement.

The Negeri Sembilan election will involve contests across 36 state seats, with polling scheduled for Aug 1 following nomination day on July 18.

However, Pejuang’s announcement only confirmed its support for PN candidates contesting the 11 seats and its involvement in assisting the coalition’s campaign efforts.

The full list of PN candidates for all 36 state seats has yet to be officially announced.

Pejuang’s decision comes as political parties continue preparing their strategies and candidate line-ups ahead of the upcoming state election.
