National Muay Thai athlete Johan Ghazali, better known as Jojo, has revealed that he turned down a RM100,000 collaboration offer that allegedly required him to stage fake social media drama to gain attention and boost popularity.
The revelation was made through a series of posts on his Instagram Story, where he shared screenshots of direct message (DM) conversations with an individual who proposed the idea.
According to a voice recording shared by Jojo, the individual suggested that he fake a public conflict with content creator Bob T20 before both of them appeared together on a podcast, creating the impression that they were genuinely feuding.
The person reportedly explained that the staged dispute was intended to generate online discussion and strengthen the personal branding of both parties.
However, Jojo rejected the proposal, saying he only wants to be involved in collaborations that provide value to the public.
“I don’t think this kind of content makes sense. It just wastes people’s time. If there’s any sponsorship that can benefit those watching, then I’m interested. Thank you,” he wrote in his reply.
In a follow-up Instagram Story, Jojo stressed that he would never agree to produce such content, regardless of the amount of money offered.
“I don’t care if you offer me RM5 million, RM10 million, RM100 million or RM100,000. No way, bro. I’m not going to do this kind of trash marketing. I’m not going to create fake drama that brings no benefit to the people watching,” he said.
Jojo said he wants every piece of content shared with his followers to have value rather than simply wasting their time.
“My intention towards my fans and those who believe in me is to provide something beneficial. Maybe the way I speak is a little harsh, but everything I say is meant to help people.
“This kind of trash marketing only works because people watch it. So use your time for something better,” he added.
