A teenager in Indonesia has been arrested after allegedly killing and burning his grandmother and uncle because he was often scolded by them.
Authorities revealed that the deadly fire broke out late last week at a pecel lele food stall in Pabuaran Tengah Village, Ciangsana, Gunungputri District, Bogor Regency, West Java. The blaze claimed the lives of SU, 58, and RA, 28, who were later found to have been attacked by the 16-year-old suspect.
“The motive was resentment. The suspect first struck both victims with a blunt object until they lost consciousness. He then poured fuel taken from a motorcycle and set them on fire,” said Gunung Putri Police Chief Commissioner Aulia Robby on Thursday.
The teenager fled the scene and went into hiding in Citeureup District before being captured on Tuesday. His arrest came after investigators obtained crucial evidence from CCTV footage recorded at the crime scene.
