20-Year-Old Woman Dies After Motorcycle Hits Buffalo in Terengganu at 3AM

A 20-year-old woman was killed after her motorcycle collided with a buffalo along Jalan Kampung Alor Parit here early Sunday morning.

The victim, identified as Siti Nur Zainatul Akmal Hanim Muhammad Hanipah from Bukit Payong, died at the scene due to severe injuries to her body.

Kuala Terengganu District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Azli Mohd Noor, said the accident happened at about 3.10am while the victim was riding a Honda Beat motorcycle from Kuala Terengganu town towards her home in Kampung Undang.

“Initial investigations revealed that her motorcycle crashed into an animal believed to be a buffalo that was in the middle of the road, causing her to fall. She was confirmed dead at the scene, and her body was sent to Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital (HSNZ) for further action,” he said when contacted on Sunday.

He added that the motorcycle sustained severe damage to the front section, while the accident occurred on a two-way single-lane road without streetlights.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
