A restaurant worker in Guangdong, China, has gone viral after responding to a customer’s disrespectful behaviour in a way that many netizens praised as the perfect comeback.
According to Chinese media, three men were dining at a restaurant when one of them allegedly threw cash onto the floor while paying the bill and gestured for the employee to pick it up.
Rather than arguing, the staff member calmly bent down, picked up the money and completed the transaction.
However, after counting the change, the employee placed the customer’s money back by throwing it onto the floor, mirroring the customer’s actions in what many online described as a silent act of defiance.
To prevent the situation from escalating, another man in the group reportedly picked up the money and handed it to the customer, bringing the awkward exchange to an end.
Neither the restaurant nor those involved have publicly commented on the incident.
A video of the confrontation has since gone viral on social media, with many users applauding the employee’s response.
Many praised the worker for giving the customer “a taste of his own medicine,” while others said respect should be returned only to those who show it in the first place.
