Firefighters Recover Elderly Man’s Body From Cave In Gua Musang

An elderly man was found dead inside a cave near a resort in Kampung Pulai, Gua Musang, on Thursday night.

Gua Musang Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) operations commander Che Razak Harun said his department received an emergency call at 9.41pm before deploying 13 firefighters along with two fire engines and two four-wheel-drive vehicles to the location.

Upon arrival at the scene at 9.57pm, rescue personnel discovered the victim, believed to be in his 70s, unconscious inside the cave.

Che Razak said firefighters used stretchers and lighting equipment to bring the man out of the cave before medical personnel from the Health Ministry confirmed that he had died.

The victim’s body was later handed over to police for further action. The operation was brought under control at 10.10pm and fully concluded at 10.48pm.

Authorities are expected to carry out further investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
