Fatal Motorcycle Crash Triggers Heavy Congestion On NKVE

Date:

The New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) experienced severe traffic congestion following a fatal accident involving a motorcycle rider near the Setia Alam toll exit this afternoon.

The incident, which occurred on the expressway heading towards Setia Alam, caused significant delays as motorists were advised to seek alternative routes due to the disruption.

A social media user, Mahmud Fahrurrazi, shared that the accident involved a motorcycle rider before the Setia Alam toll exit and expressed his condolences to the victim’s family.

He said the scene was distressing after witnessing blood on the road following the crash, adding that the incident left him traumatised.

Another user, Najmi Latif, said the accident resulted in only one lane being available for motorists, contributing to the traffic buildup along the expressway.

Comments from other road users indicated that the congestion had also affected traffic movement towards the Elite Expressway, with some motorists reporting lengthy delays.

One user claimed that the victim had already been covered when passing through the area, while another said it took about an hour to clear the affected stretch.

Meanwhile, the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) confirmed that the middle lane and emergency lane at KM5.9 southbound from Shah Alam towards Setia Alam were closed following the accident.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation while motorists are advised to drive carefully and plan alternative routes to avoid further delays.
