Motorcyclist Dies After Losing Control And Plunging Into River

Date:

A motorcyclist died after the motorcycle he was riding veered off the road and plunged into a river along Jalan Gombak Lama early Sunday morning.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Ashrul Riezal Asbar said firefighters from the Selayang Fire and Rescue Station were dispatched to the scene after receiving an emergency call at about 1am.

The accident involved a Yamaha LC135 motorcycle, which was found after it had crashed into the river.

“A local man was found unconscious at the scene before being pronounced dead by Health Ministry personnel,” he said in a statement on Sunday.

Firefighters managed to retrieve the victim’s body from the river at about 2.10am before handing it over to police for further action.

The recovery operation involved seven firefighters and was completed at approximately 3.08am.

The circumstances surrounding the accident remain under investigation, with authorities expected to establish how the motorcycle veered off the road before entering the river.
