Trump Warns Putin, Sends More Weapons to Ukraine

Date:

U.S. President Donald Trump has voiced frustration with Russian President Vladimir Putin, expressing disappointment over the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, but insisting he’s not giving up on diplomacy.

In an interview with the BBC published Tuesday, Trump said, “I’m disappointed in him (Putin), but I’m not done with him. But I’m disappointed in him.”

Reflecting on the unpredictable nature of peace efforts, Trump added, “We’ll have a great conversation. I’ll say, ‘That’s good, I think we’re close to getting it done,’ and then he’ll knock down a building in Kyiv.”

The comments came just hours after Trump announced a significant new package of weapons for Ukraine and warned of possible sanctions on buyers of Russian exports — a shift in tone that signals growing impatience with Moscow’s continued aggression.

The White House has not yet commented on Trump’s remarks or the policy changes, according to Reuters.
