BTS’ V Reveals He Can Only Hear 30% In Right Ear While Jungkook Says Shin Injury Nearly Became Stress Fracture

Date:

BTS member V has revealed that he is undergoing hospital treatment for a hearing problem affecting his right ear, saying he can currently hear at only around 30 per cent capacity on that side.

The K-pop star, whose real name is Kim Tae-hyung, shared the update during a Weverse livestream with fellow BTS member Jungkook on Wednesday. The pair spoke casually while having a meal after completing two consecutive concerts in Baltimore, Maryland, as part of BTS’ “Arirang” world tour.

V explained that his hearing began to deteriorate around two and a half years ago and has yet to fully recover. He said that while his left ear can hear at 100 per cent, his right ear is functioning at only about 30 per cent.

The singer added that he is currently taking medication and regularly visiting the hospital as part of his treatment. Despite the issue, V has continued with BTS’ demanding touring schedule, which requires the members to perform in front of large audiences across multiple cities.

Meanwhile, Jungkook revealed that he is also dealing with an injury near his shin. He described the condition as being close to a stress fracture, with considerable inflammation and what he believes could be micro-damage to the bone.

Jungkook said the injury had affected his performance, explaining that although he wanted to run energetically across the stage during the concert, the pain forced him to hold back at certain moments. He also asked fans for their understanding while he manages the problem.

The BTS member said he plans to carefully manage the injury in order to complete the group’s world tour safely. Both V and Jungkook have continued performing despite their respective health concerns, highlighting the physical demands of BTS’ packed touring schedule.

Following their Baltimore performances, BTS are scheduled to take the “Arirang” world tour to AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on August 15 and 16, before heading to Toronto’s Rogers Stadium for concerts on August 22 and 23.
