CCTV Can’t Unmask Attacker Of Rafizi’s Son — Investigations Still Ongoing

Date:

Police are still investigating the attack on the 12-year-old son of former economy minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli, which took place more than a month ago.

Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail said that although closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage of the incident exists, it has not been sufficient to identify the assailant.

“We have identified a few individuals from the footage, but it isn’t very clear and their identities cannot be confirmed,” he told reporters at a press conference today.

Rafizi’s son was assaulted on August 13 at a shopping mall in Putrajaya, where he was injected with a syringe. Khalid added that the contents of the injection are still being analysed by the hospital.

Rafizi had earlier stated that two men on a motorcycle were seen trailing his wife’s car before the attack took place.
