Man Gets Suspended Sentence After Filming 18 Sex Videos With 14-Year-Old

Date:

A Taipei man, identified only by his surname Huang, has been convicted of having unprotected sexual intercourse with a girl under the age of 14 and inducing her to film sexual videos. Despite being sentenced to two years in prison, the court ultimately granted him a 5-year suspended sentence due to his lack of a criminal record and a cooperative attitude during the trial. The ruling is subject to appeal.

According to the court verdict, Huang met the middle school student on a dating app in May 2024. The two met on two separate occasions at a hotel in Taipei’s Ximending district, where they engaged in unprotected sexual acts. During these encounters, Huang also convinced the girl to film multiple sexual videos. An investigation revealed he had filmed a total of 18 videos, storing them on both his phone and Google Cloud.

The crime came to light when the girl’s mother discovered the videos in her daughter’s cloud account and immediately reported the incident to the police.

During the trial, Huang confessed to the offenses. The court acknowledged that his actions were driven by personal desires but also took into account his clean record, full admission of guilt, and demonstrated remorse. These factors led the court to believe he could be rehabilitated and deserved an opportunity for correction.

As a result, Huang was given a suspended sentence with several conditions. He will be subject to probation, must pay NT$200,000 into the public treasury (approximately RM27,914.40), complete 200 hours of community service, and attend five legal education courses.
