Suitcase Body In Sungai Perak: Victim Believed To Be Foreign Woman

Date:

The woman whose body was discovered inside a suitcase in Sungai Perak near the Lembah Kuala Kangsar jetty last Friday is believed to be a foreign national.

Kuala Kangsar District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Heisham Harun said police had submitted the victim’s fingerprints for identification, but her identity has yet to be confirmed.

“She is not a Malaysian but a foreign national. Her identity has yet to be established,” he told Bernama when contacted.

Police had earlier confirmed on Saturday that the body found inside the suitcase belonged to a woman believed to be in her 30s.

The discovery was reported to police by a local man at around 3.12pm, after he spotted the suitcase containing the body in the river.

The victim’s remains were subsequently sent to Taiping Hospital for further examination and forensic procedures.

Police are investigating the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, as efforts continue to establish the woman’s identity and determine the circumstances surrounding her death.
