A pickup truck is believed to have lost control before veering off the road and crashing into a house along Jalan Kampung Kerinting here yesterday.
The incident occurred at around 4.55pm and involved a 53-year-old Yamaha Lagenda motorcyclist, who sustained minor injuries to his left leg after being struck by the vehicle.
Gua Musang District Police Chief Superintendent Sik Choon Foo said preliminary investigations found that the pickup truck was driven by a 34-year-old man travelling from Cameron Highlands, Pahang towards Kota Bharu.
He said the driver was believed to have lost control upon reaching the location, before hitting the motorcyclist who was stopped on the left road shoulder.
“The collision caused the pickup truck to veer off the road before crashing into a house on the left side of the road,” he said when contacted today.
The injured motorcyclist was subsequently taken to Gua Musang Hospital, where he remains under treatment for his left-leg injury.
Choon Foo said the case is being investigated under Regulation 10 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959 for failing to properly control a vehicle, with further investigations ongoing.
