BMW Driver Allegedly Suffers Seizure, Crashes Into Six Parked Vehicles In Cheras

Date:

A 28-year-old man allegedly suffered a seizure while driving a BMW 320i before losing control and crashing into six vehicles parked along the left side of Jalan Midah 1, Cheras, on Wednesday morning.

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said the incident occurred at about 8.30am as the man was travelling from his home to work in Taman Midah 1.

“The driver is believed to have suddenly suffered a seizure, causing him to lose control of the vehicle before it veered off the road and collided with six vehicles parked at the location,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.

None of the six parked vehicles had drivers or passengers inside when the crash occurred. They belonged to four women aged between 29 and 43, a 39-year-old man and a company.

No injuries were reported in the incident, with the crash resulting only in damage to the vehicles involved. Preliminary checks also found that the BMW driver had a history of seizures spanning about 10 years.

A breathalyser test conducted on the driver returned a negative result, with a reading of 0mg/100ml.

Police are investigating the case under Rule 10 of LN 166/59, with further investigations ongoing.

Members of the public or witnesses with information are urged to assist the investigation by contacting the Tun H.S. Lee Traffic Police Station at 03-2071 9999 or any nearby police station.
