Four Men Arrested After Man Found Seriously Injured By Roadside In Kajang

Four men have been arrested after a 26-year-old local man was found seriously injured by the roadside at Taman West Country here early Saturday morning.

Kajang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof said police received a report regarding the incident at around 2.28am involving the injured man.

He said the victim was discovered in a severely injured condition before being rushed to Kajang Hospital for treatment.

“Initial investigations found that the victim was believed to have been seriously injured after being attacked with a sharp weapon by several individuals known to him,” he said in a statement on Sunday.

Following the incident, officers from the Criminal Investigation Division of the Kajang District Police Headquarters launched an operation to track down those involved. Four local men, aged between their 20s and 30s, were subsequently arrested in the Kajang area.

Police checks also revealed that all four suspects had previous criminal and drug-related records.

Naazron said the suspects had been remanded for four days until September 2 to assist with the investigation.

“Initial urine screening found that three suspects tested negative for drugs, while another tested positive for methamphetamine,” he said.

The suspect who tested positive is also being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

Meanwhile, police are investigating the case under Sections 307 and 148 of the Penal Code. Investigators are also working to establish the motive behind the attack and identify other individuals who may have been involved.
