At least 71 Palestinians, including five people who were seeking food aid, were killed in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza over the past 24 hours, the Gaza Health Ministry said.
Another 304 people were injured in attacks targeting residential areas and aid routes. Four more bodies were recovered from the rubble of previous strikes, pushing the death toll even higher.
According to official statistics, Israel’s war on Gaza since October 7, 2023, has killed 65,283 people and injured 166,575 others — the majority women and children.
The Health Ministry added that more than 2,500 Palestinians have been killed while trying to obtain aid since May, including in strikes on aid trucks and food distribution centres.
The humanitarian situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate, with thousands of residents trapped without access to food, clean water or medical care. Several areas have now been formally declared famine zones by international agencies.
