A 43-year-old single mother has lodged a police report alleging that her 15-year-old daughter may be offering sexual services through the Telegram messaging app.
According to sources, the woman, who works as a cleaner, filed the report at the Pasir Puteh police station on Saturday. She claimed she was alerted to the situation by her eldest daughter during a conversation at her home in Jerteh, Terengganu, on Sept 15.
Her eldest daughter allegedly told her that the teenager – the sixth of seven siblings – had been offering sexual services via Telegram and may have had sexual encounters with several men.
The woman said she made the report so the police could take further action.
It is understood that the 15-year-old and her siblings currently live with their father in Kelantan following the parents’ divorce several years ago.
Kelantan police chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat confirmed that an investigation is under way.
