Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has assured that the Indian community will not be sidelined in Malaysia’s development agenda, with the Madani Government committed to expanding efforts to improve the community’s quality of life.
Anwar said the initiatives included widening access to financing for entrepreneurs, strengthening the Malaysian Indian Transformation Unit (MITRA), expanding entrepreneurship and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes, as well as creating more opportunities for youth development through mentor-mentee initiatives.
He said this after continuing his engagement sessions with Indian community leaders today to review the progress of the Madani Government’s agenda while hearing their views and concerns.
“Various efforts have been rolled out in education, entrepreneurship, microfinancing, welfare and cash assistance to ease the burden on families and improve their quality of life,” he said in a Facebook post tonight.
Anwar also stressed that remaining gaps, particularly those involving poverty, citizenship and access to assistance, must be addressed promptly and effectively.
He called on the relevant ministries and agencies to strengthen coordination and improve service delivery to ensure allocations and policies reach their intended recipients.
The Prime Minister said such efforts must ultimately translate into tangible improvements in the lives of Malaysians.
