Hospital Sultanah Aminah Johor Bahru has formed a special investigation committee to look into a sexual harassment complaint involving a medical specialist from its anaesthesiology department.
The Johor Health Department said the hospital received the complaint on Aug 28 and immediately began an internal investigation.
The probe comes amid a report that certain parties had allegedly asked the complainant to withdraw the complaint after it was lodged.
The department stressed that the hospital would not tolerate any attempt to conceal, obstruct or interfere with complaints involving alleged sexual harassment, or to pressure staff into withdrawing them.
“Any such attempt is unacceptable and will not be compromised,” it said.
The department added that the hospital’s internal investigation report was currently being finalised.
It also reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring fairness for all parties while maintaining transparency and protecting the integrity of the investigation throughout the process.
