Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected to affect several states until noon today, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).
In a statement issued this morning, MetMalaysia said a thunderstorm warning had been issued for Terengganu, several districts in Negeri Sembilan, the whole of Melaka, as well as parts of Sarawak, Sabah and the Federal Territory of Labuan.
In Negeri Sembilan, the affected areas are Port Dickson, Rembau, Seremban, Kuala Pilah and Tampin.
In Sarawak, the warning covers Bario, Subis, Miri and Marudi in the Miri division, as well as Limbang and Bintulu.
In Sabah, the affected areas include Paitan, Sandakan, and Labuk and Sugut in the Sandakan division; Kota Kinabalu, Papar, Penampang and Putatan on the West Coast; and Tawau, Semporna, Kalabakan and Kunak in the Tawau division.
The warning also covers Sipitang, Tenom, Beaufort, Membakut, Kuala Penyu, Pensiangan, Sook and Keningau in Sabah’s Interior division.
MetMalaysia said the weather warning is in effect until noon today.
