Several areas across the country are expected to experience thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds until 1pm today, according to the latest weather warning.
The warning covers the entire state of Perlis, as well as Langkawi, Kubang Pasu and Kota Setar in Kedah.
In Perak, the affected districts are Kerian, Larut Matang and Selama, Manjung and Bagan Datuk, while parts of Selangor including Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor and Klang are also under the warning.
Several districts in Johor are also affected, namely Pontian, Kulai, Johor Bahru and Kota Tinggi.
The warning is issued when conditions indicate that thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm per hour are imminent or expected to persist for more than an hour.
Thunderstorm warnings are short-term alerts and are valid for no more than six hours from the time they are issued.
