The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has lodged a police report against one of former prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s defence lawyers, Datuk Amer Hamzah Arshad.
The report was lodged at 11.25pm at the Presint 7 police station in Putrajaya after the complainant received information from Jana Wibawa investigating officer Mazery Mohd Zaini.
According to a copy of the report sighted by Utusan Malaysia, the complaint concerns the disclosure of a copy of a recorded conversation involving former Bersatu Segambut deputy division chief Adam Radlan Adam Muhammad in a separate case.
The complainant, who is an officer assisting Mazery, stated in the report that the document was classified as confidential and had never been disclosed or provided to any party other than MACC investigating officers.
The report also stated that the recorded statement was unrelated to the ongoing trial involving Muhyiddin at the Kuala Lumpur High Court.
The complainant subsequently requested that an investigation be launched into the alleged leak of the document.
During yesterday’s proceedings, Amer Hamzah attempted to introduce the document while Mazery was giving evidence. However, Kuala Lumpur High Court judge Noor Ruwena Md Nurdin did not allow it after the prosecution objected.
Adam Radlan had previously been listed as a potential prosecution witness. However, Deputy Public Prosecutor Datuk Wan Shaharuddin Wan Ladin informed the court earlier last month that the prosecution would not be calling him as a witness, but would instead offer him to the defence.
